1. Quicksilver (1986)
Featuring @kevinbacon as a young hotshot stock-exchange trader who trades his three-piece suit for a bike and bag to become a bike messenger.

2. Vive le Tour (1962)
Short film by French filmmaker Louis Malle chronicling the 1962 Tour de France. An intimate portrait of the Tour and the rigours of the sport. Worth watching for the cafe raid scene alone! 🥂

3. Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)
Tim Burton's feature film directing debut with Paul Reubens as the lovable childlike @peeweeherman . After getting his bike stolen at the local mall, Pee-wee sets off on an epic cross-country journey in search of his beloved bike.

Here's my work bag and what I carry inside it. It'

Here's my work bag and what I carry inside it. It's taken me awhile to figure out the perfect kit, but my current setup has stuck for awhile now.

1. I bought it in 2006? from a SF company called Freight Baggage (which I don't think exists anymore).

2. It's equipped with a waterproof liner and extra straps for large cargo. You can see it easily fits a large flat rate box, no problem.

3. In addition to the main compartment, there's 3 pockets which I use to carry personal belongings.

4. All the essentials fit in the 3 pockets. I try to keep the main compartment free and reserved for client packages only. (I had to learn the hard way when my lunch sandwich leaked tomato juice all over a client's envelope 😬)

5. Most people take notes with their phone these days, but I prefer having a small notebook and pens to take client addresses and contact info.

6. I typically bring a piece of fruit, some bars, and some candy to munch on during shift. Sunglasses and sunscreen are essential for that California sun!

7. Bike tools include: U-lock, multi-tool, mini-pump, patches, and tire levers.

The only other items I might carry are a rain jacket or an extra sweater depending on weather. Day's on the bike can be pretty unpredictable, so I've learned it's best to come prepared.
